Did you know that the U.S. Mint (usmint.gov) has a big assortment of free printable educational materials that you and your homeschoolers can explore? It’s true! They’re available for a variety of grade levels and are great for summertime learning.
Browse the U.S. Mint Coin Classroomβs educational resources to find at-home activities, lesson plans, and more. Use coins to teach kids math and finance concepts, as well as general information about the Mint and coins. These resources focus primarily on grades K-6, but can be customized for all ages.
Wherever possible, the resources align to educational standards, including Common Core. If youβre looking for something specific, email us!
The Mint offers free printed materials to the public to promote our coin programs, including coin boards, coin coloring books, and stickers. Also download our Coins For You booklet (PDF, 4MB) for a general guide to the Mint, coins, and collecting. (usmint.gov)
The “Coins For You” booklet is an especially nice read-aloud for beginners. Why not print a copy, and pick up a couple of rolls of circulated pennies or quarters from your local bank or supermarket and go through them around the living room table. Hours of artistic, educational, historical, and geographical treasure hunting will be yours.Β π°
